Research with international visibility by WEST group - Hot Foam of plant origin, just as effective as chemical herbicides
An innovative method to deal with weeds in crops and with an efficacy of up to 90%, without harming the environment and creating a food safety issue was evaluated by a scientific team of the Agricultural University led by the Associate Professor of Agronomy & Weed Science, Ilias Travlos.
It is a plant-based heated foam that has been shown to kill weeds as effectively as a commercial herbicide and can be a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative. Prof. Ilias Travlos talked to Cibum about this new method and the outcomes of this research which has already been published in international scientific journals and has promoted our country at a global level given the need to reduce pesticides’ use.
