Quick-test for the optimization of herbicide use & in-season recommendations to the farmers

The objective of this innovative project is funded by DU PONT and coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Ilias Travlos (AUA) was the development of a quick test for the optimization of herbicide use. Optimizing herbicide efficacy and preventing the development of herbicide-resistant weed populations is a crucial issue for achieving optimum weed control in arable crops. In situ evaluation of herbicide efficacy and management of potentially resistant weeds in wheat, maize and rice fields of Greece was achieved by means of an innovative quick test developed by WEST.
